what would you wear on an airplane if not sneakers? i have sometimes worn boots because i didn’t want to pack them. or sandals because that makes sense
I began to wear sneakers on planes and it's weirdly good for me. But more to the point(s) yes to grace/old friendships/texts, which I think we might employ texts very similarly and sorry for cocktails but I don't drink so if you become a mocktail girl maybe you will inspire me. Because I'm kind of seltzer--excitement = a splash of cranberry juice and that is not exciting, exactly.
Finished the Alison Bechtel book and it’s great! And it’s also about friendship, and aging, and community, and looking for hope in dark political times.
Sent here because of Ann, so I knew I would enjoy it. I want to visit the Coastal Maine Botanical Garden when we're in Maine this fall - thanks for the reminder!
Botanical gardens are so great! They were free in New Zealand, too. And I know some people are sad about friendships that exist mostly in text or group chats, but the ability to stay connected to people from different eras of my past is one of the great boons of modern life.

Clogs, flats, Blundstones, sometimes sandals in summer…
This is beautiful. I love the idea of friendship being a site of giving and receiving grace. Thank you!

Hugs! Such an excellent post, again!
Love botanical gardens too- and love your take on friendship and sneakers. Both are quite important!
Love this. Adult friendship is something I’ve been thinking about a lot lately.

Yes yes yes. Friendship grace. And grace to our bodies.

I love all of your posts, but of course, I especially love this one, because reasons.
